Return to Salang, Tioman. 6th-10th June 2013

Ad-hoc trip with a fellow singer/diver. The idea was to go on a chillax trip.

Day 1: Travel and Relax

Took a slow drive down to Mersing through the night, napped on the ferry and TA-DA! Hello Salang!! Checked in and proceeded to the AODN at the dive center. Later in the evening, we went hunting for the blackie froggy.

Day 2: More diving and the AODN

The trip out today was to the elusive Tiger Reef, known for its unpredictable currents and the swim through haven of Labas. We must have done something good, as we didn't have to bad currents at Tiger Reef.

Day 3: Bad Viz Dive and Chillax

There were AOW students doing their wreck specialty, so we went to KM Sipadan. Probably the worst viz I have had at this wreck. Took a break until after lunch and was planning to go solo on a shore dive to look for froggies, but opted to go with the group to Labas instead. Cris and I got left behind at one point of the dive(too busy trying to get that shot + not too good viz), but we managed to find our way back to the boat 10 mins ahead of the group.

Day 4: Decisions, Decisions...

Cris and I decided to leave on the 6pm ferry so that we could squeeze in 2 more dives in the morning. Went hunting for the froggies again because Cris spotted a second froggy at the jetty. By the time we had our gear washed and hung, it was 3pm. Then the decision was made to stay another night for two reasons. One, so the gear could dry off, and two, traffic was gonna be craaazy!

Day 5: The journey home.

As usual, Tioman ferries have a punctuality problem...by the time we arrives back in Mersing, it was 3pm. The group stopped by Kluang for Tangkak Beef Noodles and then went our own way back to KL.
